To Increase Sales: Understand and Serve Your Customers

There are tons of articles, seminars, books, and tools to help you sell your service or product. You have probably spent a fair amount of time and money in the effort to sell. We are suggesting one simple starting point. Understand and Serve.

Consider that essentially you work for your customers and potential customers. Effectively, if you do not fully understand them and if you don’t strive to serve them, you will not be able to sell to them.

Many entrepreneurs start their own business because of the premise that they would be their own boss, but the reality is that as a business owner every one of your customers and potential customers are your boss.

It is your job to understand what they need and how you can help them, and then serve them the best you possibly can. Review your products and services with the mind set of presenting your new suggestions to your "boss". This will give you a different point of view.

Communicate to your customer/potential customer in a way that they can see you understand their needs and that you want to serve them and help them achieve their goals. When they feel that you genuinely care and want to support them, they will say yes. Be sure your process of relationship building as well as your marketing efforts clearly reflect that your main objective is to Understand and Serve.
